The Metal Treating Institute (MTI) Educational Foundation is proud to announce the awarding of $122,500 in scholarships and educational grants to support the next generation of professionals entering the heat treating industry. This year's investment reflects the Foundation's continued commitment to developing future leaders in materials science, metallurgy, mechanical engineering, and related technical fields.

Through the generosity of MTI Member companies and the Foundation's strong financial stewardship, 15 exceptional students across North America have each been awarded $7,500 scholarships, totaling $112,500. In addition, the Foundation has awarded a $10,000 educational grant to Niagara College's Mechanical Engineering Technician Program in Canada to help provide scholarships for students pursuing careers in mechanical engineering.

Recipients were selected based on academic achievement, leadership potential, career focus, and their commitment to advancing manufacturing and thermal processing technologies.

MTI Educational Foundation Board Chair, Doug Glenn, shared, "These scholarships are an investment in the future of our industry. As the demand for skilled professionals continues to grow, supporting talented students isn't just our responsibility, it's our opportunity to strengthen the future of heat treating."

Since its inception, the MTI Educational Foundation has awarded 101 scholarships for $595,500 supporting internships, workforce development initiatives, and educational partnerships throughout North America. The Foundation continues to bridge the gap between education and industry by encouraging students to pursue rewarding careers in thermal processing and advanced manufacturing.

Congratulations to all of the 2026 scholarship recipients! We look forward to watching these outstanding students make meaningful contributions to innovation, quality, and manufacturing excellence in the years ahead.
