MTI Educational Foundation Awards $80,000 in Scholarships to Future Leaders in Heat Treating
The Metal Treating Institute (MTI) Educational Foundation is proud to announce the awarding of $80,000 in scholarships to students pursuing careers in materials science, metallurgy, and related technical fields. This year’s scholarship program reflects MTI’s ongoing commitment to supporting the next generation of talent in the heat treating industry.
Through the generosity of MTI Member companies and the Foundation’s strong financial stewardship, 15 exceptional students across North America have been selected to receive $5,000 scholarships. The Foundation also approved a $5,000 donation to the Niagara College Mechanical Engineering Technician Program in Canada. These recipients were chosen based on academic excellence, leadership potential, career focus, and industry involvement.
MTI Educational Foundation Board Chair, Doug Glenn, shared, “These scholarships are an investment in the future of our industry. As the demand for skilled professionals grows, supporting young talent is not just our responsibility—it’s our opportunity to shape the future of heat treating.”
Since its inception, the MTI Educational Foundation has awarded $473,000 in scholarships to 86 students, and has promoted internships and workforce development initiatives. The program helps bridge the gap between education and industry by encouraging students to explore the dynamic world of thermal processing.
Congratulations to all 2025 scholarship recipients! We look forward to seeing how you’ll forge new paths in innovation, quality, and performance in the years ahead.
