In Oct 2010, I joined the Glass Tempering industry, which opened my eyes to a different perspective on other types of heat treating operations.
I joined Super Systems in February 2011 as a Field Service Engineer, where I was quickly integrated into the Project Group performing instrumentation and equipment upgrades, which also honing my skills in electrical design, PLC and HMI development, and communications. As time progressed, I was further tasked to utilize my Mechanical Engineering degree, my mechanical aptitude, and my attention to detail to expand SSI's offerings: Modernizing the SSI Nitriding control and flow panels, mechanical design (and building) the first SSI generator mixing system (AutoGen), assisting with the design of SSI's flowmeter products, including the design of the original SSI High Pressure flowmeter product line, designing and creating SSI's offerings of Mixing and Flow Panels (Endothermic, Nitrogen-Methanol, Nitrogen-Hydrogen, vacuum partial pressure, etc...), and creating the ExoGen product (exothermic automatic mixing system). During this time, my job title changed to Project Engineer, and then to Senior Project Engineer. While designing these products, I continued to manage simultaneous projects (5-15 projects or assets), while continuing to provide electrical design guidance, PLC/HMI/Operator interfaces, customer and technical support, and internal support for sales, production, and my colleagues in the Project Group.
I have since then been promoted to Mechanical Engineering Manager, continuing all Project Engineering responsibilities with the additional responsibility of managing SSI's Project Group's CAD department.
