Protecting Your Operations: Key Questions and Trends on Business Insurance

Wednesday, October 28, 2026
2:30 PM - 3:30 PM (EDT)
Category: LIVE Webcast

Is your business property and liability insurance keeping pace with your operation? Your 2027 renewal is an opportunity to ask important questions about what is covered, where gaps may exist, and how well your policy protects your business.

Join MTI CEO Tom Morrison as he interviews Jonathan Dochterman on the key questions and considerations heat treaters should discuss with their insurance providers before renewing. This practical conversation will explore how to evaluate coverage, understand policy limitations, and weigh costs against the financial impact of a loss. Topics will include:

Property values: Do coverage limits reflect the cost to replace buildings, furnaces, equipment, and other business assets?

Business interruption: What protection is available if a covered loss shuts down production, and how long would it support your recovery?

Liability exposures: How does your policy address damage to customers’ parts, work in process, and claims related to your heat treating services?

Exclusions and deductibles: What provisions could create unexpected out-of-pocket costs? Operational changes: Have new equipment, services, locations, or changes in sales been communicated to your provider?

Renewal preparation: What information should you gather, how early should you begin, and how can you compare proposals beyond premium price?

Owners, executives, and financial leaders will leave with a clearer understanding of the questions to ask and the coverage details to review as they prepare to protect their operations in 2027.
