8:10 am - 9:30 am:  Jay Owen - Your Company’s Digital Presence…. You BETTER BE THERE
When you look at your online presence, is it just a stagnant website, or is it a flourishing interactive instrument tapping into artificial intelligence, digital technology, and communication enhancements to become an interactive tool for customer service, lead generation, and sales.  The online world is changing daily and those who leverage it will have a huge competitive advantage in the world of manufacturing.  In this session, Jay Owen, President of Design Extensions, will show you the attention-grabbing details you must have in your online strategy if you are to compete in 2020 and beyond.

9:45 am - 11:00 am:
Garrison Wynn - What You Don’t Know in Safety, Can REALLY Hurt Someone
As manufacturing continues to change, so do the issues surrounding safety.  Regardless of change, plants still have dangerous chemicals, electrical hazards, dangerous confined space, and forklifts running everywhere.  Knowing how to blend these hazards into an effective safety plan is key to protecting your employees so they go home every night.  In this session, Garrison, one of America's top experts on safety, will share with you the necessary steps to take to ensure your safety plan is up to date with innovations in manufacturing.

11:00 am - 11:30 am:  State of the Institute Update by MTI President, Pete Hushek

9:00 am - 10:30 am: Spouse Guest event
One of the greatest elements of MTI meetings, is how connected the spouses are. Don't miss this opportunity to connect with other MTI spouses. You will enjoy bloody mary's and mimosas over a light breakfast, while meeting other spouses from all across North America.

Wednesday, April 25

7:15 am - 8:00 am:  Continental Breakfast for Session Attendees (MTI - IHEA)
8:00 am - 8:10 am:  Welcome from IHEA President Mike Shay

8:10 am - 9:30 am:  Chris Kuehl - The Economic Future...Boom or Bust?
The session will unpack the 2 to 3-year forecasts for the heat treating industry and various manufacturing sectors driving sales in the industry.

9:30 am - 10:30 am:  Pete Hushek & BJ Bernard - Manufacturing 4.0
With lack of qualified people being every industry’s #1 challenge, automation and emerging technologies are driving manufacturing plants to develop new avenues of production, quality, and line operations.  Apps, artificial intelligence, robots, sensors, and numerous other technologies are transforming plants into the future.  Two of our own members, Pete Hushek from Phoenix Heat Treating, and B.J. Bernard from Surface Combustion will lead an interactive discussion on how technology is increasing the capacity and production of operations while allowing employees to work smarter, not harder.

10:30 am - 11:30 am:  Captain Michael Abrashoff - It’s Your Ship…Achieving Breakthrough Performance (SPOUSES INVITED TO THIS SESSION)
When Mike Abrashoff took command of the USS Benfold, morale was low, turnover was high, and performance ranked at the bottom of the Pacific Fleet. Twelve months later the ship was the benchmark for performance – the shining star…using the very same crew. This inspiring talk is based on the vital leadership lessons Abrashoff learned as he led the remarkable turnaround of the ship. The first lesson was Abrashoff’s realization that before the ship’s performance could improve, his own leadership style had to change from the traditional command and control model. When the crew would present a problem, Abrashoff became known for responding “What would YOU do? It’s YOUR ship!” His Leadership Roadmap principles created a high performance culture and empowered his crew to take charge and use ingenuity and initiative to improve every aspect of the way things were done. Abrashoff’s presentation leaves audiences with the tools and inspiration to lead differently and elevate organizational performance to new levels

12:30 pm:  GOLF TOURNAMENT

MTI is invited to join IHEA members for an afternoon of activities taking place at Talking Stick. On Wednesday, April 25th you can participate in an IHEA Golf Tournament to be held on the grounds of the Talking Stick Resort. Details and registration information can be found by CLICKING HERE.

6:30 pm - 11:00 pm:  MTI - IHEA President's Reception & Final Night Dinner
Don't miss the final night as both MTI and IHEA members come together for food, drinks, and an exciting night sharing what they have learned and their experiences throughout the week in Scottsdale.
