1:00 pm – 4:00 pm: OPTIONAL Boat Excursion
MTI members have charted a boat exclusively for a water tour for members. One of St. Thomas’ most popular activities by far, this excursion gives participants a true taste of the Caribbean taking advantage of the great sailing and snorkeling conditions. Vessels depart from the Frenchman’s Reef Dock. On board, participants will enjoy the company of the crew and experience a relaxing sail along the coast of St. Thomas and out to Buck Island Wildlife Refuge.
Once safely anchored at one of the calm coves, participants will have the opportunity to snorkel over some of the best reefs near St. Thomas. The underwater vegetation and the reef’s shelter have attracted the endangered green sea turtle to many of Buck Island’s coves. Visitors to the island will usually spot them as well as rays and many different species of tropical fish.
Snorkeling equipment and a safety vest are included as well as expert snorkeling instruction by a crew member/snorkel guide. After in-water activities, guests can relax and soak up the sun or enjoy the shade of the spacious cabin roof as the friendly crew pampers you with assorted open bar beverages and light snacks
A full lunch is also provided. Cost is $130 per person and includes boat tour, all water activities, food and beverage.

Far too often business owners miss the mark on how their website and social media tools should be integrated into their marketing and customer service strategies. Websites provide customers access to information without human interaction and social media provides your customers your biggest sales tool. It’s been proven that peer referrals are not more influential than advertising. MTI’s Industry Support Team member, Jay Owen from Design Extensions, will share the keys to making your website a selling machine and awesome employee. During this session, you will also take part in a hands on workshop where Jay will show you how easy it is to use Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn to enhance your website marketing.

Carved from Blue-Bit stone, the course is nestled between the scenic hills and breathtaking shoreline of St. Thomas’ scenic North side and showcases the local charm and outright beauty of the island. Perhaps most awe-inspiring, the course includes the world famous Devil’s Triangle, a three hole stretch sure to challenge the best of players. Saturday, May 3 (SPOUSES AND GUESTS INVITED TO THESE SESSIONS)
8:00 am – 9:45 am: How to Say Anything to Anyone
Having a culture of open and honest communication is such a challenge in any aspect of life, especially in the workplace. Think about what happens in most instances… One of your direct reports is consistently inappropriately dressed for work. It’s impacting her reputation, but . . . you don’t say anything. You have a request for your boss but you don’t know how to say it, so . . . you don’t say anything. One of your colleagues doesn’t include you on communications that affect your department. You’re frustrated but don’t know what to say, so you don’t say anything. Speaking up when we are frustrated is hard and as a result, most of us don’t. Instead, we tell other people or say nothing and performance either stays the same or gets worse. You can say anything to anyone and have it be easy. You just need to lay the ground work to do so, and most of us don’t. Shari Harley, from Candid Culture, will share the keys on how you can say anything to anyone in a way to create a positive environment where positive behavioral changes happen.
10:00 am – 11:30 am: Rocky Bleier From the Super Bowl Champion Pittsburgh Steelers
Why do some organizations dominate and some lose? What are the ingredients of “real” success? Framed through parallels to football and Rocky Bleier’s personal journey as both a war veteran and four-time Super Bowl champion with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Bleier explores both structural and emotional aspects for individuals and organizations to reach their greatest potential. Successful teams and organizations share four characteristics: leadership, people, vision & a shared belief system.
6:30 pm – 11:00 pm: Closing Night Reception, Dinner and Entertainment
After enjoying two days of educational sessions and seeing St. Thomas, enjoy dinner followed by entertainment, sharing your favorite lessons learned and memories created during the 2014 Spring Meeting.
