From MTI’s partnership with the Manufacturing Alliance (MAPI), MTI members will receive regular updates on the state of manufacturing from MAPI’s lead economists.  This month, Dan Meckstroth presents the first in a regular series providing commentary on current manufacturing activity. Manufacturing production surged in December and many of the indicators in the industrial sector improved. Topics discussed include the manufacturing labor market, orders, production by industry, factory utilization, prices, and trade, as well as the forecast for manufacturing production this year and next.
