8:00 am – 9:15 am:  Will 3D Printing Be Heat Treating’s UBER

Over the last 3-years UBER has disrupted the taxi-cab and transportation industry and Zillow has done the same for the real estate industry.  These technologies have left many of their member companies behind in the growth of their industry. Many believe additive manufacturing and 3D printing could and will do the same to manufacturing and heat treaters who do not take advantage of the opportunities it presents. 3D printing technology is moving its way into the main stream of manufacturing and will one day transform how your customer produces product and how it needs to be heat treated. In this session, Adam Clark from Tangible Solutions, a leading innovator in the work of additive manufacturing, will teach you the basic of 3D printing, how it is changing manufacturing and where the opportunities are for your heat treat business.

Many heat treating companies have purchased an app or a piece of equipment that has dramatically reduced response time to furnace downtime with a piece of equipment or the ability to respond to a safety problem in the plant. You can’t be everywhere all of the time physically but technology allows you to monitor where you need to be all the time. During this session, Tangible Solutions will moderate attendees in a discussion of the wide variety of practical pieces of technology whether an app or piece of equipment that has dramatically increased their opportunity to respond to problems, challenges or opportunities.
