MTI Opens Call For Presentations for Apprenticeship Program Content

By Tom Morrison posted 03-03-2015 10:55 AM

Earlier this year, the Board of Trustees approved funding to reproduce the entire catalog of MTI Academy courses that make up its four technical and management certificate programs. As a part of that effort, MTI approved the additional development of eight new courses to formalize and complete the content for the New Apprenticeship Program.  The Apprenticeship Program is set to be introduced in the fourth quarter of 2015.

MTI is looking for members who can act as content experts and present the course content to meet the learning objectives of any of the eight new courses.  The Education Committee and Apprenticeship Work Team are both asking qualified members to consider responding to the call for presentations and submit your outline to be approved as the content provider.

To be qualified, you must have the following:

  • Have proven expertise in the area you submit your presentation for
  • Submit a call for presentation with details of how you would approach the topic (link to submit below)
  • Have your presentation outline approved by the Education Committee and Apprenticeship Work Team.
  • Be able to teach the content in front of a group of people while being video taped
  • Meet the timeline provided by MTI upon approval

MTI is working with a professional production team and will work with all approved presenters on a plan to produce and create any course a member is approved to present.

The course work MTI is seeking content presenters for are as follows:

  • Best Practices in Heat Treating (Fixturing, Distortion, Daily Routines)
  • Process & Atmosphere Controls
  • Basics of Blueprints
  • ABC’s of Induction
  • ABC’s of Vacuum
  • ABC’s of Pyrometry
  • What You Need to Know About Audit Compliance
  • Principles of Operating a Heat Treat Facility

If you feel you have qualified staff at your facility that can help MTI design and deliver the content in any one of the eight courses listed above, please CLICK HERE and complete our content application.
